Non Domestic (Commercial) Energy Assessor (NDEA) Training
Learning Academy UK Ltd provide City & Guilds NDEA level 3 and 4 training courses in London, Wales and Scotland.
Non-Domestic Energy Performance Certificates (NDEPC)
Since 1st October 2008, all non-domestic buildings on construction, sale and rent have required a Non-Domestic Energy Performance Certificate and a Recommendation Report (RR).
It is estimated that NDEPCs will be required for approximately 220,000 buildings (Non-dwellings) per annum, which includes approximately 15,000 newly constructed buildings. These buildings will require trained energy assessors to understand onsite requirements as well as the design based assessment techniques.
Display Energy Certificates (DEC)
From 1 October 2008, all larger public buildings (over 1000 sq m), or more than 500 sq m from 9 January 2013, have required an annual Display Energy Certificate highlighting their energy performance, the DE|Cs requiring renewal every 12 months. These buildings also require an Advisory Report (AR) providing recommendations for energy improvements every seven years.
Examples of buildings that must have a DEC include local authority buildings, libraries, public sports facilities such as leisure centres, NHS trusts and education centres such as schools, universities and colleges.
EPCs and DECs can only be produced by licensed Energy Assessors who are within an Approved Accreditation Scheme and using accredited software.
The Learning Academy Non-Domestic (Commercial Energy) Assessor Training
Learning Academy U.K is offering a programme of comprehensive and professional Level 3 and Level 4 Commercial Energy Assessor training that will provide you all the knowledge required to become accredited and to issue Energy Performance Certificates on Commercial Buildings in England and Wales.
The Commercial Energy Assessor course is taught by expert and experienced tutors in this field. They will guide you through the material and ensure you are fully prepared for City & Guilds examination and written assignments.
Qualifications for Non-Domestic Energy Assessors
Currently there are 3 levels of scheme membership that exist for Non-Domestic Energy Assessment.
The 3 levels are as follows:
Level 3 (C&G 6361-02) – 4 days duration
Candidates at level 3 will be qualified to undertake EPCs on simple existing non-dwellings that have frequently occurring characteristics, which can be modelled using the Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM). Commonly occurring characteristics include simple heating systems, natural ventilation and small (non complex) cooling systems. These buildings will not have centralised air conditioning plant. Level 3 does not include assessment of new-build properties from plans/ design specification. These buildings comprise the majority of the building stock.
Level 4 (C&G 6361-04) – 5 days duration
Level 4 assessors will be qualified to undertake assessments for all the properties mentioned for Level 3 above PLUS newly constructed and existing non- dwellings (that can be modelled on SBEM). Level 4 assessors may also be competent to oversee a team of specialist surveyors who on their behalf may undertake site surveys, although the assessor will take responsibility for the completed energy assessment. These buildings are likely to include centralised air conditioning plant.
Level 5 (currently not offered by Learning Academy)
Level 5 Assessors will be qualified to undertake assessments on the most complex new and existing non dwellings that will need to be modelled using Dynamic Simulation Models (DSM). Level 5 assessors may also be competent to oversee a team of specialist surveyors who on their behalf may undertake site surveys, although the assessor will take responsibility for the completed energy assessment. Only a very small proportion of the building stock falls into this Level 5 category.
According to CLG analysis, 86% of the 1.5 million commercial buildings in England and Wales are less than 500m2 in floor area and are typically either small retail or office premises.
The Learning Academy NDEA course includes
