What are these Qualifications?
 
Energy efficiency is an increasing concern for UK buildings. Regulation is increasing in response to the UK Climate Change Act 2008 and the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, resulting in a corresponding focus on the energy efficiency of buildings and the associated emissions of carbon dioxide. This qualification allows candidates to learn the knowledge and understanding required for employment and/or career progression in the energy advisory sector. They cover a variety of subjects relevant to rolling out energy efficiency measures across the built environment of the UK, including Customer Services and Sales as well as understanding the Green Deal, and the variety of energy efficiency measures that may be implemented in a building.
 
The qualifications will provide existing trades with a better understanding of:
 
• The drivers for energy efficient buildings
• The impact of building fabrics and usage on energy efficiency, and
• The essential knowledge of their role in improving the energy efficiency of a building

Who are these qualifications for?
 
These qualifications are for candidates who:
 
• work or want to work in the energy services sector, including in a support services role such as sales or customer advice
• require the essential knowledge of the basics of retrofit
• wish to pursue a career in Environmental Technologies
• require the essential knowledge to carry out energy efficient works in order to be successful in the retrofit market
